If you don’t have multiple profiles, do you even exist?

My friend Bryan left this comment on my Facebook Wall —

“Seems everyone’s doing the social network things these days. If you don’t have multiple profiles, do you even exist? Ahh, the existential quandrum of our generation.”

To add to the proliferation of profiles, yesterday we launched profile pages on Google Maps, which aggregate all the maps you’ve created and the reviews you’ve written. Here’s mine. It consists mostly of reviews of Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area. To create your Google Maps profile, go to http://maps.google.com/maps/me.

This brings my total number of profile pages to at least 15 — Facebook, Google Maps, AliveNotDead.com, Polyvore, YouTube, last.fm, Digg, FriendFeed, MySpace, Del.icio.us, Twitter, Blogger, WordPress, Yelp, and Yahoo Mash.

If multiple profiles is what validates your existence, then I must surely exist.

Haha, as you can probably tell, I’m doing my bi-monthly “online jess” check-in. So I came upon this post, and for whatever reason, I flew over my name in the first sentence, read the quote, and completely didn’t recognize I had said that earlier. What’s weirder is that upon reading the quote, I thought “hmm, this quote sounds vaguely familiar. Vaguely.”

Haha, anyhow, cool post, thanks for the love. I’ve been written about by Jess! I’m a rockstar!
