I won a virtual Halloween costume contest

I won Polyvore.com’s Halloween contest by submitting this Mario & Luigi Halloween costume, which I created using Polyvore’s simple editing tools.

Polyvore is my favorite new site. It offers a simple, well designed, easy-to-use, AJAX editing tool that can be used to create a collage of images. Most of the current users are making fashion-related collages of cool outfits, but the tool itself isn’t fashion-specific in any way, so you could easily imagine it being used for interior design, website layouts, cars, caricatures, art, etc. It seems to have a very active, very large user community. Whenever I create anything, I always get feedback and comments very quickly.

Here’s some other stuff I’ve created on Polyvore –

And here are some of my favorites, created by other people. It’s really stunning what some people do with Polyvore.

    Yeah, Ian Rogers is dope.

Haha, I’m all about the Google Reader. I got so many RSSesses up in that shit that it takes a full workday just getting through all the stories. I’m such a sucker for them headlines.

Hey, that record player image is pretty cool. I might have to steal it for my own purposes.

BTW, I got a post coming up all about your My Maps / wildfire saga. It’s mostly written up, I’m just waiting for the weekday to post it up.

[…] My friend Thai showed me Polyvore back in October. “Check out this site my friend Pasha is building,” he said. I instantly fell in love. It was like a combination of online Photoshop and Flickr, but for art instead of photos. I was fascinated by all the cool things people were creating using Polvore — fashion, interior design, artistic self-expression, caricatures, logos, postcards, etc. I started making my own sets and was surprised by how quickly they got comments and “Likes” from the user community. I ended up winning Polyvore’s Halloween contest. […]
